Introduction to Lazada eLogistics (LeL)

Everything written about eCommerce opportunity in Southeast Asia is overwhelmingly positive - a population of 600 million plus consumers, growing internet connectivity, broad penetration of smart phones, a young and tech savvy population and expanding GDP and purchasing power. The region’s rate of eCommerce share of total retail at around 1 percent shows enormous opportunity in comparison to 14-17% in the west and China.

 

Most of these rosy stories are followed by a big but - the logistics environment in SE Asia a huge challenge.

 

Lazada eLogistics (LeL) mission is to address these challenges, delight customers and win them over to eCommerce. We are building an innovative, highly visible, low cost logistics network. Our operating model is based on an ecosystem of logistics partners stitched together with state of the art technology and our modular infrastructure

 

LeL is the Logistics arm of the Lazada Group and is structured around four operating Business Units

Express :  Own B2C last mile delivery capabilities from pick-up to sort to delivery. Transport :  Management of our ecosystem of partners (3PLs) along all the transportation components. Fulfilment :  Operation of a network of warehouses that can fill retail orders on our own behalf, as well as providing

fulfilment services to merchants and international brands.

Crossborder :  Build-up & management of international logistics network giving seamlessly access to ASEAN.

 

The Role

This position will report directly to Head of Transport. The incumbent will responsible to ensure the solutions for logistics needs for every customer and seller. Goal is to improve our day-to-day operations, our 3PL management, and implement best practices, following the group governance and deliver best-in-class services to our customers.

 

Work together with the Head of Transport on the Transportation strategy, main goals & targets. Translate this strategy into daily operation processes, change management (internal and external) and timeline. Implement and support in improving Regional Transport Blue Print. Ensure local operations alignment with the Regional Blue Print. Foster the transport teams with focus on operation excellence to ensure we can deliver world class operations. Support transport teams (operation, continuous improvement, visibility, customer experience). Manages Operations Transport team on day-to-day activities to ensure a full compliance towards agreed 3PL and internal SOPs. And create SOPs where not present in collaboration with Head of Cost and Performance. Conducts continuous improvement towards processes to achieve agreed KPIs. Works with Head of Cost and Performance to analyze transportation routes, methods, and procedures to design and develop flows and routes to optimize the allocation and reduce lead time for end customer, utilizing the most economically advantageous and efficient 3PL. Manages projects with 3PLs to enable the traceability and tracking of parcels End-to-End from first mile pick up to last mile delivery. Audits and encourages 3PLs on site (Sorting/Distribution centers, hubs) to map out processes and supports them to meet our targets. Lead, coach and manage the 3PL relationship management team, CS, Daily Operations Manager to ensure best-in-class service quality. Manages and improves daily productivity to optimize the all associated costs while providing a best-in-class service to the end customer Supports the planning and forecasting of the capacity requirements and the development of the team in the short and long-term plan as needed by business growth Automates processes and optimizes the resources available Goes the extra mile to improve the lead time for the final customer Able to motivate and develop the team through improvement plan and coaching Others as instructed and agreed with Head of Transport

Qualifications & Skills BA/BSc degree with outstanding results from a top university in one of the following fields: Business, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering 5-10 years of experience in Logistics/transport/Supply Chain positions Strong data analysis skills and attention to detail Proficiency in Excel (working knowledge), Microsoft Project would be a strong plus Proven track record of operations management, leading change management project at ground operations level Problem solving attitude and ability to manage tasks independently Highly energetic and self-motivated / Results driven-focus on operations & scale Demonstrated ability and dynamic personality to handle changing environments, multiple tasks, to prioritize those tasks and meet deadlines Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English Prior team management experience with management style that displays strong affinity for quantitative analyses-driven strategy setting

 

Open to travel within Indonesia to various cities as and when required

 

Business acumen to evaluate impact of various initiatives on costs and performance.

 

Knowledge on transportation management systems and WMS

 

Knowledge in IT systems and system integration with 3rd party

 

Experience in Project Management

 

In depth understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement, preferably Greenbelt or Blackbelt Certified
