As globalization and economic integration of the entire East Asia region progresses, it is necessary to improve the business environment related to trade and investment for the mutual benefit of all countries in the region. To address this, the Training Project for Improving the Business Environment related to Trade and Investment of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) has been assisting developing countries in improving industrial structure and the business environment by sharing Japanese economic / social system, technologies and know-how, all of which have been a foundation of the economic growth of Japan. The Association for Overseas Technical Scholarship (AOTS) is entrusted with this training project in FY2010 by METI, and will conduct training programs that contribute to the economic development of the region and that address the needs of individual countries.

Indonesia faces various logistical issues and solutions to these issues are evolving over time. Export competitiveness refers to not only developing products based on quality and the demand of the global markets but it also encompasses the capability of the exporting countries to deliver those products in a prompt and reliable manner.

In collaboration with The Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), which has been organizing the JEXSA Project (Support for the Advancement of Logistics Management in Indonesia) since 2008, AOTS has designed this module for logistics experts and practitioners. The program aims to provide the participants with practical methods and techniques for effective approaches to logistics management to enhance their trade competitiveness.
